BLEND DOOR MOTORS (HVAC)

Blend door motors, also known as HVAC actuators, are small electric motors in a vehicle’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. They control the position of the blend doors—internal flaps that regulate airflow and temperature inside the cabin. These motors adjust the mix of hot and cold air by opening or closing the blend doors, based on input from the climate control system or the driver’s settings. When a blend door motor fails, symptoms can include inconsistent cabin temperature, clicking noises behind the dashboard, or an inability to change air direction or temperature.
